The Royal Hot Spring Hotel & Health Centre is located in Beitou, a Taiwanese city renowned for its beautiful nature and therapeutic hot springs. The new resort, aimed at an older clientele, combines a boutique hotel with a diagnostic clinic. Here, guests can receive a thorough medical check-up and learn about a healthy lifestyle amid elegant, comfortable surroundings.
The interior design is inspired by the rich flora and fauna of Beitou. Local materials such as textured wood and stone are integrated into the modern interior. Gently curved walls reference the river that snakes through Beitou.
The use of natural materials introduces a relaxed ambience that also characterises the hotel rooms. Every room is equipped with a hot spring bath that is connected with the nearby spring.
The bathroom can open into the room thanks to a moveable wall of timber louvres, which curves towards a window that fills the room with daylight. A LED system adapts to every desired atmosphere in the room.
The clear, clean spaces of the diagnostic clinic exude expertise and trust. As the treatment rooms are bathed in natural light, the clinic doesn’t feel like a hospital despite the presence of medical equipment. Additionally, the waiting spaces offer maximum privacy to make guests feel more at ease.
Recognisable timber furniture elements are placed throughout the clinic and provide private seating in the niches and recesses for TV screens and magazines.
