Requirements:

• This position requires that you speak and write fluent English and/or Dutch;
• Master's degree in Architecture;
• A couple of years of relevant international experience as an architect;
• At least 5 years of relevant international experience as an architect, including project management experience;
• Knowledge of Dutch laws and regulations (BbL);
• You can coordinate projects and work with complex assignments;
• Skilled with drawing and illustration software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign;
• Experience with 3D modeling programs such as Revit and knowledge of BIM;
• Willingness to move to the Netherlands, if you don't live there yet.

Wat ga je doen?

Als Business Development Manager ben jij de spil in het vinden van kansen in de markt en het overtuigen van onze directie en partners om hierop in te spelen. Je hebt een sleutelrol in het succesvol indienen van tenders en competities, waarbij je nauw samenwerkt met architecten en stedenbouwkundigen.

In tweede rondes vertaal je ideeën en schetsen naar heldere en overtuigende teksten, terwijl je tegelijkertijd het overzicht behoudt en de coördinatie van het project aanstuurt. Samen met het Business Development team geef je vorm aan de strategische koers van Mecanoo, waarbij jouw creativiteit en scherpte het verschil maken.

Wat breng je mee?

Wij zoeken iemand die:

• Een afgeronde hbo- of wo-opleiding heeft in architectuur, stedenbouw of een relevante studie, met een sterke affiniteit met de gebouwde omgeving;
• Ervaring heeft in de architectuur- of bouwsector, bij voorkeur met het schrijven en coördineren van eerste en tweede ronde tenders en competities;
• Uitstekend Nederlands (als moedertaal) en Engels beheerst, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk;
• Een scherp oog heeft voor detail, gevoel voor taal en passie voor schrijven en onderzoek;
• Ondernemend, proactief en flexibel is, met een goed gevoel voor grafische vormgeving;
• Bekend is met MS Office en het Adobe-pakket (InDesign in het bijzonder).

What will you do?

We are looking for a dynamic professional to manage and produce high-quality materials, including proposals, presentations, and qualifications packages, to support our business development efforts. In this role, you will conduct tender surveying, track leads, and perform research to inform Go/No-Go decisions. You will organize RFQ/P kick-off meetings, set review schedules, and ensure timely contributions from both internal and external team members. You will take the lead in drafting and refining proposal content in collaboration with Partners and other departments in the company, ensuring responsiveness to client briefs. Additionally, you will coordinate input from external consultants and manage their involvement in proposals. If you thrive on combining strategy, creativity, and organization, this is an exciting opportunity for you.

What do you bring?
 

• Holds a higher education (HBO) or university (WO) degree in architecture, urban planning, or a related field, with a strong connection to the built environment.
• Has experience in the built environment sector, ideally with international competitions.
• Demonstrates native-level fluency in English, both written and spoken, and excels in clear and effective communication.
• Shows exceptional attention to detail, a talent for language, and a passion for writing and research.
• Is entrepreneurial, proactive, and adaptable, with a strong sense of graphic design.
• Is skilled in MS Office and Adobe Suite, particularly InDesign.
