Kinderacademie Delft (Children's Academy) visits Mecanoo
26.01.2015 - Events
Sunday January 18, a group of 23 children (11 to 12 years old) visited Mecanoo. Part of the Kinderacademie Delft (the Children's Academy), an organisation that aims to motivate young people to pursue and complete an education, they were invited to the office to learn about architecture and being an architect.
Enthusiastic members of the Mecanoo team explained to the children what architects do, how you can become an architect and the different kinds of architects that work at the office.
Of course, the children also learned about various buildings Mecanoo has designed.
The visited ended in the model workshop where the children could build their own fantasy building. With a little help and advice from the professionals, they created models for different types of buildings ranging from a gas station to holiday home.
Inspired, excited and with dreams of becoming an architect, the children left at the end of the afternoon.
