Conny Janssen Danst, the acclaimed Rotterdam-based modern dance company, performed for Francine Houben and Queen Máxima during the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Prize ceremony on November 30, 2015.
In collaboration with documentary filmmaker Jasper ten Berge, artistic director Conny Janssen created a short dance film and a live staged choreography inspired by three striking buildings by Francine Houben and Mecanoo: the St. Mary of the Angels Chapel, the Delft University of Technology Library and the newly opened train station in Delft.
The choreography was based on excerpts from INSIDE OUT, the successful Conny Janssen Danst performance of Spring 2015. Music was played live by IET singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Budy Mokoginta, keyboardist Peter de Graaf and cellist Jonas Pap.
The combination of the three distinctive buildings and the dancers’ movements results in a mesmerizing experience.
