Nuno Fontarra to give keynote at PLÅT17

Nuno Fontarra will give a keynote address at the Swedish architecture seminar PLÅT17, which takes place in Stockholm on March 16, 2017.

The PLÅT seminar is a major event devoted to metal sheeting and architecture. The purpose of the seminar is to highlight sheet metal facades and metal’s architectural potential, showcasing unconventional ways of utilizing it.

In his lecture, Nuno will address the facade design of innovative Mecanoo projects such as Three Cultural Centers & One Book Mall in Shenzhen, the Library of Birmingham, the Córdoba Palace of Justice, Amsterdam University College, and the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts.

Facade materials for these projects range from elegant gold-coloured anodized aluminium to cold-bended 6mm thick steel plates, and from powder-coated standing-seam aluminium to Corten steel. Other speakers at PLÅT17 include Michel Rojkind (Rojkind Arquitectos, Mexico) and Gijs van der Velden from MX3D (The Netherlands).
