Join Francine Houben at Weiwuying Master Talk Series

Francine Houben, Creative Director at Mecanoo, will talk about her design process— People, Place, Purpose— and the aspects interwoven for the soon-to-be opened National Kaohsiung Centre for the Arts (Weiwuying). The quest to represent the harbour city, its industries and its people, Francine will include rare footage of the 10-year design and building process in making the national arts center.

The National Kaohsiung Centre for the Arts symbolizes the transformation of Kaohsiung, once a major international harbour, into a modern, diverse city with a rich cultural climate. Mecanoo designed the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, located on a former military terrain, as an integral part of the adjacent subtropical park to have a positive social impact on the residents of Kaohsiung whose population counts almost 3 million.

Master Talk Series will take place at the Opera House of the National Kaohsiung Centre for the Arts, Sunday, 14^th of October, at 11:00h.
