Francine Houben discusses “People Place Purpose Poetry” at Cornell University

Francine will be speaking at the Department of Architecture at Cornell University, one of the oldest and most respected architecture programs in the United States. The virtual lecture on the 7th October entitled “People Place Purpose Poetry” will describe the specific architecture of Mecanoo, highlighting the company’s ethos of designing places for people and beginning the process of exploring the urban environment and observing the life which inhabits it. Poetry is a new layer added to the motto, reflecting the elusive elements of architecture.
The lecture will be introduced by Caroline O’Donnell, Edgar A. Tafel Professor of Architecture and director of the M.Arch. program at Cornell University. Her research and teaching areas are in ecological and contextual design, as well as in nonlinear materiality.
