16.02.2021 - Events
Francine will be speaking at the Reuse and Renewal Virtual Summit, taking place on 23rd and 24th February. This conference will focus on approaches to preservation and adaptive reuse. As part of the agenda for day 1, Francine will be participating in a panel discussion alongside Gary Martinez (Partner at OTJ Architects), Dirk Denison (Founding Principle Dirk Denison Architects) and Anthony Tysinger (Senior Project Executive at Gilbane).
The conversation will be centred around the theme of “Mies and Men: Bringing Mid-Century Icons up to Contemporary Performance Standards” and address the challenges of renovating two Mies projects – Washington D.C’s Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library and the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Kacek Hall – without compromising the building’s design integrity.
