International Architecture Awards exhibition "The City and the World"

The opening of the architectural exhibition "The City and the World" took place on Friday, September 10th, 2021, on the ground floor of EUROPEAN CENTRE, at Mitropoleos 74, Plaka, Athens, Greece. The exhibition is part of the “International Architecture Awards”. On the first floor of ΤΗΕ EUROPEAN CENTRE the exhibition displays various photographic panels and videos of the awarded projects from Wolfgang Tschapeller (Winner of the 2020 European Prize for Architecture) and from Francine Houben and Dick van Gameren (Winners of the 2021 European Prize for Architecture).
Those projects show a stunning collection of buildings that can surprise, inspire and improve the quality of everyday life. At the same time, they demonstrate dedication of the highest standards in building design, which continue to influence contemporary design today. This year’s Ceremony Awards opened with speeches by Christian Narkiewicz-Laine, President of the Chicago Athenaeum, by Mrs. Martina Hermann, Deputy Head of Mission of the Austrian Embassy and by Mr. Maurits ter Kuile Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of The Netherlands. On the same night, ΤΗΕ EUROPEAN CENTRE awarded The International Architecture Awards 2020 and 2021 and the European Prize for Architecture 2020 and 2021 at the Divani Palace Acropolis.
The architectural firms which participated in the Awards Ceremony were: Arquitectonica, B E H N I S C H A R C H I T E K T E N, Coldefy, Caballero Colón (Diego Colón de Carvajal and Paula Caballero), K-Studio, Mecanoo, mei architects and planners, Mino Caggiula Architects SA, MONTALBA ARCHITECTS, Peter Kuczia architects, Rhode Partners, VENTURA+PARTNERS, WILLIAM / KAVEN, Wolfgang Tschapeller, Grupo Zegnea and many other guests from Greek architectural firms.
The exhibition will last until October 6th with free admission to the public.
