Join Mecanoo at the final event of WALK-IN at the Delft University of Technology

18.01.2023 - Events

WALK-IN (acronym of Widening Sustainable Mobility Networks: Impact on Nodes) focuses on how to improve mobility transition, make it seamless and create public space for more inviting and attractive stations for people and with less car.

The general objective will be to develop a design toolkit for professionals in the creative industry which provide generic guidelines and spatial solutions for the integration of sustainable mobility with public space at stations. The project aims to develop a new network and an EU funding proposal on Energy transition and Sustainability.

Rotterdam has been used as test-bed for this research (connected to education) to explore how stations have the potential to become new urban centralities with node, place and people value. In a panel discussion setting with lectures and with a workshop, the participants of this seminar will elaborate on Co-creation and Integrated (data-driven) Design to Node development.

During the final event next week, January 26th, Arne J. Lijbers, Partner/Architect, lectures on Hubs and the Future of Mobility, while Cris Mitry, Urban Designer/Writer Researcher delivers a lecture on the Rotterdam Zuid Vision and Lydia Giokari, Architect, joins the panel discussion and workshop after the lectures.
