On September 19th, the Members' Council of the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects (BNA) appointed six new Board members: Floris Overheul from Mecanoo, Annegien van Dijk from BRIQUE Architecten, Wouter Thijssen from MVSA, Tim Vermeend from Urban Climate Architects, Jeroen de Willigen from De Zwarte Hond, and Jan Peter Wingender from Winhov.
Floris has been working at Mecanoo since 2019. As Partner and Financial Director, he oversees the Finance, Business Development, People & Organization, ICT, and Quality Management departments at Mecanoo. Floris is responsible for daily management and, in collaboration with the partners, plays a key role in shaping the company's strategy.
Floris expressed his enthusiasm upon being appointed to the BNA Board, stating, "I am excited to take on this role, where I will be dedicated to representing the interests of the architecture industry and its workforce."
Starting on September 22nd, the newly appointed Board will immerse itself in the workings of the BNA. They will prioritize tasks such as identifying a suitable chairman and a new director, initiating the development of governance structures, and defining key areas of focus for representing the interests of the organization.
By the end of this year, a clearer vision of BNA's future direction and strategy will emerge. The Board members are eager to engage with and get to know the association's members during the BNA Architect Day on November 2nd.
