Mecanoo’s Rodrigo Louro to Speak at Architizer Future Fest 2024
11.09.2024 - Events
Join us at Architizer's Future Fest 2024, a virtual celebration of architectural thought and creativity, returning for its third season of live talks. On Thursday, September 26, at 1 PM ET, Rodrigo Louro, Associate Architect at Mecanoo, will present the talk "How Mecanoo Finds Identity in a Globalized World".
Every place is different, each has a local dialect not just in spoken language but in the way that the landscape, cityscape and each vernacular building speak of its unique identity. Contemporary buildings can join the conversation, expressing themselves in this local dialect but saying something new.
Rodrigo will explore how contemporary architecture can contribute to and enhance local identity, even in a globalised context. Highlighting recent Mecanoo projects - such as the Tainan Public Library, Kaohsiung Station masterplan and the National Performing Arts Centre in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan - Rodrigo will illustrate how architecture regenerates communities while centring human experience, cohesive narratives, and sustainability.
Don’t miss this opportunity to dive into Mecanoo’s vision. This year’s series will take place from September 24 to 26, and every talk is 100% free to attend. Register for this talk here.
